Golf has probably inspired more memorable quotations than any other sport.  The companionship, the solitude, the elation and the misery of the game have created a wealth of wisdom and humour, pathos and self-mockery that go far beyond golf and reflect on life itself.

We have collected several hundred of golf's finest sayings, and present them here in completely random format for you to discover at leisure.  Click on the green box to bring up a new quotation, or just let them scroll by themselves.  We shall add to this collection whenever a worthy candidate presents itself, and would be very happy to receive your contributions.
